WELCOME TO CASTELLO DI LEONINA!
The Castle of Leonina is located in the heart of the well-known Siennese Crete, dry air, limpid view on sweet rolling hills with no woods but occasional cypresses and wheat plantations. The castle is a fortress dating back to the 13th century and was the residence Cardinal Fabio Chigi, later the Pope Alexander VII.
The Castle of Leonina has 11 double rooms, 3 suites and 6 de luxe rooms,
luxuriosly furnished.
The Castle of Leonina, newly opened, is fully operating as an exclusive hotel offering a buffet breakfast, gorgeous view on the hills, gardens and an attentive service.
In addition, the hotel offerS the following services: a swimming pool set in our gardens outside the castle and a Beauty Center with whirlpool, Turkish bath and massage.
While awaiting for the opening of our own restaurant, the service is guaranteed by some conventions with local typical restaurants.
From the castle’s windows in every direction our guests enjoy a wonderful view,
which relax the mind.

The Castle of Leonina is situated on the hills around Siena, in the Crete Senese area, close to the well known vineyards and wine producers. You can reach Siena in 10 minutes and Florence in 40 minutes. Within 40 minutes by car you can reach Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza.

A1 Highway Napoli-Milano (from north) > Exit Firenze certosa > motorway Siena-Firenze direction Arezzo > crossroad Asciano-Taverne d’Arbia > Leonina.
A1 Highway Milano-Roma-Napoli (from south) > Exit Val di Chiana > motorway Siena-Firenze direction Arezzo > crossroad Asciano-Taverne d’Arbia > Leonina.

BY CAR:
From north: get A1 motorway until the exit Firenze-Certosa. Keep going for the highway Firenze-Siena following the direction for Arezzo. Leave the highway at the crossroad Asciano- Taverne d’Arbia.
Keep going for 6 km, then turn on the left for Leonina.
From south: get out from the A1 motorway, exit Valdichiana, follow the direction for Siena. Proceed through the highway for nearly 34 Km. At the crossroad Asciano-Taverne d’Arbia turn on the left and keep going for nearly 6 Km then turn on the left for Leonina.

Nearby you can reach the delightful village of Castelnuovo Berardenga, to begin a journey of the Chianti Wine Road toward Gaiole in Chianti. The Castello di Leonina Relais is set in sunny countryside, with many small villages of the Valdichiana. Arezzo and its wonderful villages is not far away.

The Castello di Leonina Relais has 21 charming rooms:

The Presidential Suite has two rooms, bathroom, double bed or twin beds, and a comfortable sitting room. Beach towels and bathrobes for men and women are supplied. For longer stays our spacious Junior Suites are a good choice.
The rooms are individually finished in classic Tuscan style with wooden roof beams and terracotta tile floors. Each room has been decorated with noble style and features elegant furnishings with elaborate brocaded textiles. The aristocratic style is subtly combined with modern comforts such as air conditioning and direct dial telephone.

Swimming pool:
In our prestigious estate you can relax and enjoy the Tuscan sun in our swimming pool, which is open from May to September and it is located at the side of the castle.
Restaurant:
Inside the property there is also a fine and traditional restaurant located in the limonaia, where you can taste the best of Italian and Tuscany cooking accompanied by a fine selection of wines.
