Residence Villa Mucellena is set in the peaceful Siena hills, immersed in the greenery of Holm-oaks and chestnuts of the Montagnola Senese district between the ancient Via Francigena, Via Cassia and Via Aurelia, 18 Km from Siena, 50 from Florence,18 from Casole D'Elsa, 50 from Volterra and 20 from San Gimignano.
Thanks to its panoramic position at an altitude of 500 m above sea level, the summer climate is dry and airy, making it perfect for trips into the neighbouring woodlands, which are crossed by numerous pathways for trekking and mountain bike enthusiasts. The Villa has seven peaceful, bright apartments furnished with every comfort. The windows offer splendid views of the Tuscan countryside: from the High Val D'Elsa to Val D'Arbia, with glimpses of the towers of San Gimignano and other Medieval Villages, such as Volterra. The park in front of the villa is perfect for walking or diving into our beautiful swimming pool. Our restaurant serves excellent characteristic Tuscan cuisine to order and a delicious breakfast buffet is arranged in our bar.

From A1 Highway Milan-Rome from north:Exit Firenze - Certosa, follow direction Siena and then exit to "Colle di Val d'Elsa nord", from Colle di Val d'Elsa, follow direction "Grosseto, Gracciano" and after the San Giulia bridge, turn left to Scorgiano. Then turn left to Mucellena.
From A1 Highway Rome-Milan from south:Exit Valdichiana and follow the direction to Siena (motorway to Firenze) then exit to Colle in Val d'Elsa sud. from Colle di Val d'Elsa, follow direction "Grosseto, Gracciano" and after the San Giulia bridge, turn left to Scorgiano. Then turn left to Mucellena.

The Montagnola Senese district lies west of Siena, in an area which is still ruled by woodlands, granting man the occasional space in which to live and cultivate crops. It is a land which is generous in terms of environmental beauty and splendid landscapes, as well as works of considerable historical value.
From the first Neolithic settlements to those of the Etruscans and Romans, from life in the Middle Ages to the present day, Montagnola has been always been intensely active, without ever being completely overcome by man's intervention.
Despite a past rich in commercial trade, thanks to the presence of the Via Francigena, Montagnola has retained a historical feel, characterised by castles, churches, villages, hermitages, monasteries and farmhouses.
Villa Mucellena is situated in these places where chestnut woods, age old-trees and a natural environment wich accepts the presence of man, turn the short an long stays of those who choose to stay in this expertly renovated and meticulously furnished villa into unforgettable days.
Celsa Castle: From Castle to sixteenth century Villa, Celsa takes its name from the Cel family, who owned it until the 13th Century.
Medieval Curch: Santi Maria e Gervasio in Marmoraia: A Romanesque church with three naves, and fort ruines. There is a depressed arch portal on the west face. In the south wes corner lie the ruins of a round cistern tower.
Medieval Curch: San Giovanni a Pernina: Romanesque Parish church with a characteristic bell tower separated from the church.
Lecceto Hermitage: The origin of lecceto hermitage dates back to the down of time. It was made an Augustinian monastery in 1244 or thereabouts and in 1387 it initiated reform within the order. Numerous monks from alla over Italy an Europe applied for admittance to Lecceto. There is a huge painting in the hermitage depicting the family tree of sanctity wich flourished in Lecceto: there are 25 names.

The Villa has seven bright and peaceful apartments, furnished in typical Tuscan style and equipped with every comfort.
The windows offer a view of the charming Tuscan countryside: from the high Val d'Elsa to Val d'Arbia, with glimpes of the towers of San Gimignano and other medieval towns, such as Volterra.
The apartments for 2-6 guests comprises a large living room,one or two bedrooms, satellite television,telephone, safety box,heating,kitchen accessories.The bar situated in the park in front of the main house is open to guests for all requirements.

Swimming-pool (16m x 8m ), baby pool (4m x 4m), cotto floor around the pools, deck chairs and sun umbrellas, terrace with gazebo.
Garden: Park planted with secular trees, oaks, ilexes and cypresses. Garden with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas.
Dining-room: veranda looking onto the park and swimming-pools, with table and chairs for common use to accommodate 30 people and a dining-room where meals are served. Our restaurant serves excellent characteristic Tuscan cuisine to order and a delicious breakfast buffet is arranged in our bar.
Hall: hall with living-room and fireplace, bar, study with telephone, computer and Internet connection, three toilets, one with direct access from the garden and two accessible from the hall, laundry room with washing machines, iron and ironing board, professional kitchen for use by the catering staff to prepare meals on request.
